Marquette Building
Restoring 130 years of bronze craftsmanship at the Marquette Building.
For the historic Marquette Building, MTH Industries was entrusted with the meticulous restoration and reconstruction of the landmark’s iconic bronze entry systems. After more than 130 years of exposure and heavy use in the Loop, the bronze doors at two of the building’s primary entrances required a complete overhaul to return them to their original 1895 grandeur.
Our specialized teams carefully removed the massive door assemblies, completely rebuilt the internal mechanisms, and reinstalled them with a focus on preserving the intricate ornamental details. Our work ensured that these functional pieces of Chicago history—famed for their proximity to the building’s Tiffany mosaics and MacNeil relief panels—remained operable and secure while upholding the strict preservation standards of this National Historic Landmark.
