Willow Crossings Apartments Fireproofing

MTH performing ‘spray-on’ fireproofing at the Willow Crossings Apartment Complex in Elk Grove Village, IL. The fireproofing was furnished and installed on all of their existing, structural steel I-beams that were located in the building’s parking garage structure.

New stairway by MTH elevates Zurich Headquarters

MTH furnished and installed this custom staircase and railing system at the new Zurich Insurance Headquarters building in Schaumburg, IL. MTH provided the ‘complete package’, which consisted of the glass, steel stringers, steel stairs, and the ornamental, stainless steel handrail.

‘Untouchables’ stairs get much-needed rehab

Palmolive Building

MTH has been selected for work on another Chicago icon—renovating and replicating the historic storefronts of the Art Deco Palmolive Building.

Our glass and stainless creations supply “wow” factor at new Blackhawk store

A glass and metal staircase and glass-walled stainless steel elevator greet visitors in the dazzling two-story entry of the new Chicago Blackhawks store at 333 N. Michigan. Fabricated in the MTH plant, the installation is part of our extensive work on the iconic building.

MTH crews fabricate, install structural steel at Soldier Field

When new structural steel reinforcing was needed for the seating bowl at Soldier Field, the call went in favor of the MTH squad.

Out on “The Ledge”

In 2009, MTH built the spectacular “Ledge” tourist attraction onto the sky deck at long-time client Willis (formerly Sears) Tower, and when a problem occurred recently our crews were airborne to fix the minor damage with practically no downtime. On a Wednesday night, visitors were frightened to observe what they thought were cracks in the glass floor of the observation perch. The attraction was shut down, but by Thursday afternoon, the cracked surfaces, actually thin protective coatings atop the 10,000 lb-rated glass floors, had been replaced with customary MTH speed and efficiency.

Spectacular new canopy at Neiman Marcus

A new bronze and glass entry and canopy was fabricated in our plant, and installed at the Chicago Avenue entrance of the Neiman Marcus store at 737 North Michigan Avenue.

Who did they choose to build “The Bean”?

“Cloud Gate” has become one of Chicago’s favorite attractions, but getting it from sculptor Anish Kapoor’s inspired concept to gleaming reality was a daunting task. MTH Industries was the logical choice to fabricate and erect the internal structure and our metalwork artisans were up to the painstaking installation and polishing of the famous exterior to its seamless, mirror-like perfection—earning a grateful hug from the artist!
